VENGEANCE HAS A NEW NAME. ZEB CARTER

Zeb Carter calls the cops when he hears Hank Parker and his family have been killed.

Home invasion crew, the cops tell him. They shrug and say chances of finding the killers are slim.

Which suits Zeb just fine. He has no interest in seeing the killers in prison.

What he has in mind ... is a little more permanent.

Because the home invasion crew made one mistake.

They killed Zeb Carter's friend.

Hunting You—Book 7—The Warrior Series

I bought this book when it went on sale for 99 cents and it is the best 99 cents I have ever spent. It was worth a lot more than what I paid for it.

All books in the Warrior Series can be stand alone stories but they are much better if you read each of them in order so as to be able to understand all the characters more fully—including the main character, Zeb Carter. Another note that you might find interesting about this series, even though they are thrillers and are packed with action and suspense, there is no foul language (even though it is hinted at) and no steamy sex scenes. Just goes to show you that a story can be good without those 2 things.

In this story Zeb goes out after the bad guys because it is personal for him. They killed a man whom he was in the army with and whom he thought a lot. That was bad enough for Zeb, but they also killed the man’s family, including the children, while the man watched. This fact brings back some horrific memories for Zeb—memories that have only been hinted at in some of the other books and even more so in this book. Zeb’s team/crew is not around when he decides to go on the war path—he thinks that because it is personal that they shouldn’t be dragged into this. Zeb does reach out to government officials to help him find the man who is responsible for his friend’s death. This is when a couple of FBI agents get involved. The agents don’t trust him and even at one point would have drawn their gun on him if not for the female agent suddenly getting a phone call from a higher official.

As in the other Warrior stories you have to peel away layers to get to the main course—who is behind this and why. His friend’s death was not the only death of innocents as the story moves along, and because of these other deaths the FBI also wants the bad guys.

This is a real roller coaster ride with plenty of suspense and intense moments. As always, there are new technical gadgets added to Zeb’s arsenal that helps him find the bad guys and also helps to keep him safe. Makes you wonder if some of the gadgets might really exists—but we just don’t know about them.

In the end the bad guys hit Zeb too close to home—also by this time, his team decides to step in and help him weather he wants help or not. There was a real surprise at the end, about the people that the bad guys were desperately looking for, something I only suspected at the very end.

At the satisfying conclusion of this story I could not help but hope that Zeb might develop a romantic interest in one of the female characters. Hopefully she will show back up in future stories. I am looking forward to the next story in this series, called, “Zero”, I think. Have no idea when it will be out but I will be watching for it. I can’t get enough of this series.

Hunting You A CovertOps Suspense Action Novel Warriors Series of Crime Action Thrillers Book 7 edition by Ty Patterson Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews

The Warrior series just keeps getting better. The plot is well developed and contains non-stop action. Very hard to put down and provides for a quick enjoyable read. Zeb Carter is a great truly likeable main character. The ending was very well done and leaves the reader wanting another adventure with Zeb and his team. I highly recommend this great book and series. Keep the Warrior series coming. It's great!!
I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. I also purchased a copy, because I enjoyed it so much and wanted to support this author.
Ok, I read this book in a matter of hours, yeah, it is that good! I'm a character reader, I get into the characters, their story, who/what they are. The author does an amazing job of painting the primary character quickly & thoroughly, all the significant characters in his writing are developed similarly. This book is in all senses of the word, a thriller, opening with Hank Parker having dinner with his family when 3 intruders break in and start asking him where the money is. After killing his wife and children they ask him one more time, who has the money? His last words are "Zebadiah Carter has the money". That’s it, no spoilers from me though I can see more about these characters in the future.
We start with a couple being brutally murdered in an apparent attempt to recover lost drug money. But the killers made a huge mistake. The murders were a case of mistaken identity, and the male victim was a friend of Zeb. Needless to say, Zeb does not take kindly to the murder of any of his friends. That's where we start from in a book that takes us into a Mexican prison, into the lives of three assassins, as well as criminal gangs. We also get to see yet another example of Zeb in the field on the war on terror, and this was a particularly good sidebar. Needless to say, this book escalates throughout, and I found it a highly enjoyable read, especially when the team reunites in the end to put an end to the criminal gang that has taken over Zeb's adopted home town. Ty Patterson has cleverly intertwined two different genres while creating characters we love and enjoy. For who doesn't love the smart-ass twin sisters, Beth and Meghan? And of course, the smooth talking Texan, Roger. And the affable giant, Bwana. Even Warner, Broker's infamous computer, takes a staring role. Highly enjoyable.
You won't want to put this one down as Zeb is constantly on the move. The "hoods" don't stand a chance!!! ---Just a hint of his tools for action, "a cache that any self-respecting deep operative would be proud of included a Glock, holster, Kevlar vest , magazines, Benchmade, NVG, blood packs, bandages and stun grenade." And that was just ONE cache. My favorite quote of character Jeb Carter to the FBI, "...You hunt folks down and put them behind bars. I hunt folks down and put them beneath the ground". And so goes Jeb's task to rectify the existing situation. (I received a draft of this book, but also purchased a copy when published). Thanks, Ty. Keep up the great work. I need more Zeb and crew!!!
'...Zebadiah Carter. He has the money.'
And with those words, Hank Parker, ex-special forces and friend of Zeb sets his and his family's killers right into Zeb's path of revenge. Clever man.

Gangsters find themselves on the wrong side of Zeb Carter, a rather lethal situation in which to find themselves. So why did I find myself smiling?

Zeb uses some unusual tactics to take down enemies.
"They were caught unaware. They would have been ready for drones, for snipers, for armed vehicles. They weren’t expecting goats." I crack up every time I think of the scenario to which this quote relates.

An enthralling read well worth picking up, just don't expect to be able to put it down as easily ...
